Boarding

At The Regent’s School, Pattaya, we provide boarding facilities for students of all nationalities, religions and cultures. Parents of children who board want them to do so because of the unique opportunities that a quality boarding school can offer. Some families prefer their children to board because of the English Speaking Environment at The Regent's School; others live or work overseas. Some parents are away from home a lot and want to provide a stable education within a homely environment for their children.

The majority of our boarders are International students. The influence of the Global Connect program is particularly important in the Senior Houses, while regular exchanges with other Round Square schools bring more native English speakers into each of the houses. English is spoken daily in the boarding houses, with the staff and with other boarders.

We do not accept children under Year 3 into boarding, because children of this age find the routines of boarding life difficult and would generally benefit from living with their parents at home. We highly recommend that up to and including Year 6, boarders should go home each weekend, because they do get very tired and they need to have regular contact with their family.

Whatever the reason for choosing boarding, The Regent's School, Pattaya, welcomes all students and works hard to offer them a safe, happy and caring environment where they can develop socially and retain their individuality, yet fit in to a large family unit. Every opportunity is given to students in boarding to enable them to study hard, to achieve good results academically, and to make the best use of their recreational time. We are in loco parentis, so we are substitute parents who care, are interested in and are concerned about what our children achieve. Rather than replace their own homes, we aim to give them a 'second home' in which they live during school time.

We are an International member of the Boarding School’s Association (BSA) – please visit their website at http://www.boarding.org.uk/pages/bsa
